The second day of the sixth edition of the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers, CARSPO 2026, has featured strategic sessions on smart policing, operational preparedness, strategic communication and election security in Owerri, Imo State.
The sessions, held on Tuesday, September 22, brought together senior police officers and resource persons for lectures, discussions and interactive engagements on contemporary policing challenges and the security demands ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A major highlight of the day was an interactive session with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, during which senior police officers continued deliberations on strengthening policing practices and improving security preparations for the forthcoming elections.
The conference is also examining strategic communication and operational readiness as key components of effective policing and the management of election-related security challenges.
The ongoing CARSPO 2026 is providing a platform for senior police officers and other stakeholders to exchange ideas, assess emerging security challenges and develop strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
