The Federal Government on Tuesday renewed its appeal for sustained public, spiritual and moral support for troops battling insecurity across the country, as the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) OFR, declared that national unity remains critical to winning the fight against terrorism, insurgency and banditry.
General Musa made the call while receiving the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The Defence Minister stressed that the ongoing security operations across different theatres require a whole-of-society approach, noting that prayers, encouragement and support from religious organisations continue to strengthen the morale of personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
He commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for what he described as their unwavering support and sustained prayers for the nation’s security institutions.
According to him, the Armed Forces remain resolute in their constitutional responsibility of defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting lives and property across the country.
General Musa further urged religious leaders to continue promoting peace, patriotism, unity and national cohesion, emphasizing that faith-based organisations have a strategic role in fostering harmony and supporting national security efforts.
In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Minister of the church’s continued support for both the Armed Forces and the Federal Government.
The cleric offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, sound health and the capacity to lead the country towards greater peace, stability and economic prosperity.

He also prayed for divine protection and victory for troops engaged in various military operations nationwide, while seeking lasting peace across the country.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity and security.
The statement was signed by Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Assistant (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence.
