The Okpe Peoples’ Forum (OPF), a pan-Okpe socio-political and cultural organisation, has endorsed Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for a second term in office, citing what it described as his remarkable achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education and economic development over the past three years.
The group also congratulated Oborevwori on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election and commended the party for what it described as a united and transparent primary process.

In a statement signed by its President, Comrade Igho Akeregha, and Secretary, Pastor Edward Emoyadua Agba, on Thursday, the forum expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and urged Deltans across ethnic and political divides to support his re-election bid.
According to the group, Oborevwori’s administration has delivered unprecedented infrastructure development and demonstrated a strong commitment to the welfare of the people through the implementation of his M.O.R.E Agenda, which focuses on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.
”In just three years in office, the Okpe people and indeed many Deltans are satisfied that Oborevwori has surpassed expectations through his tireless commitment to the rapid transformation of the state. We therefore express our appreciation and support for his re-election in 2027 to consolidate on the gains already recorded,” the statement said.

The forum noted that major infrastructure projects undertaken by the administration include the construction of flyovers, extensive road networks and slip roads in the Warri/Effurun metropolis, as well as the completion of numerous road and bridge projects across the state’s 25 local government areas.
It also highlighted the completion of a five-storey High Court Complex in Asaba, describing it as a significant boost to judicial administration in the state.
On economic empowerment, the group said the governor had expanded opportunities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through grants and support programmes, while also strengthening the Delta CARES initiative to provide direct assistance to vulnerable residents.
The statement further noted that the administration had approved the rehabilitation of 150 Primary Health Centres and sustained free maternal healthcare services as well as free medical treatment for children under five years of age.
According to the group, the healthcare sector has also benefited from upgrades at tertiary institutions, including the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, with the acquisition of modern diagnostic equipment such as MRI and CT scanners.
The OPF said the education sector had witnessed notable improvements through increased funding, infrastructural development and the payment of bursaries to more than 32,000 Delta State students in tertiary institutions across the country.
It added that Delta remains the only state in Nigeria with four fully funded state-owned universities, a development it said has expanded access to quality higher education.
The forum also commended the governor for maintaining peace and stability across the state, noting that the prevailing peaceful atmosphere has encouraged investment and contributed to economic growth.

Akeregha and Agba further praised Oborevwori’s fiscal discipline, stating that the state had not taken any new loans in the last three years while continuing to service existing debts and reduce its debt burden.
While reaffirming support for the governor’s second-term ambition, the group urged him to devote greater attention to addressing challenges relating to electricity supply, food security, industrialisation and unemployment.
The forum expressed confidence that a second term would enable the governor to consolidate on ongoing development efforts and further transform Delta State for the benefit of all residents.
