Troops of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE have recorded significant gains in ongoing operations across Plateau State, arresting suspected impostors and neutralising terrorists in Jos North and Wase Local Government Areas.
The operations were conducted late Thursday as part of intensified counter-terrorism efforts in the state.

This was made known in a statement by the Media Information Officer of the task force, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh.
According to Oteh, troops responded to a distress call at Dutse Uku in Jos North at about 11:45 pm following reports of sporadic gunfire.

He said the troops intercepted and apprehended two individuals masquerading as security operatives.
Oteh explained that the suspects, dressed in black tactical uniforms, were caught engaging in arson and orchestrating violence within the community.
“The arrested individuals are currently in custody, while two persons who sustained gunshot wounds have been evacuated to a medical facility and are in stable condition,” he stated.

He noted that the arrest serves as a rebuttal to allegations of military complicity in the unrest.
According to him, the development indicates that criminal elements are impersonating security personnel to perpetrate violence and discredit the Armed Forces.
Oteh further disclosed that troops extended operations to Karem in Wase Local Government Area.

He said troops disrupted a movement of terrorists on motorcycles, leading to an engagement during which three insurgents were neutralised.
He added that the insurgents fled under sustained military pressure.
Oteh said the success followed the deployment of additional counter-terrorism troops ordered by the Chief of Army Staff.
He emphasised that the military remains resolute in eliminating threats and restoring peace across the state.
