The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned a purported list of successful candidates from its recently concluded party primaries, describing the publication circulating on social media and other platforms as fake and unauthorised.
According to a public notice issued by the party and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said it had not released the official list of successful candidates from the primaries and urged members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard any report claiming to announce the outcome of the exercise.
The party explained that successful candidates would be formally notified through its official channels, after which Certificates of Return would be issued in accordance with established procedures. It advised party faithful and the public to rely only on official communications from the party to avoid being misled.
The latest disclaimer follows a similar warning issued earlier this month when the APC dismissed as fake a purported list of senatorial candidates circulating online, stressing that only the National Working Committee (NWC), acting through authorised communication channels, has the constitutional mandate to announce candidates emerging from its primary elections.
The APC said the clarification was necessary to prevent confusion and misinformation surrounding its nomination process ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging members and the public to ignore unauthorised publications and await official announcements from the party.
