Troops of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army have neutralised two suspected armed terrorists during a tactical operation in Ondo State.
In a statement signed by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Irabor Njoka, the Brigade said the operation was conducted on February 14, 2026, along the Akunu–Auga road.
The troops, deployed at the Forward Operating Base, Auga, reportedly acted on credible human intelligence about the movement of suspected criminals in the area.

According to the statement, troops swiftly mobilised and intercepted the suspects, leading to a firefight.
“The ensuing contact with the armed elements led to a firefight, where the troops’ superior fire power resulted in the neutralisation of two of the terrorists, while others fled with suspected gunshot wounds,” the statement read.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with personnel of the Ondo State Security Network Agency and local vigilantes.
Items recovered include one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 61 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, a jackknife, torchlight, suspected illicit drugs, charms and ₦39,000.

The Brigade stated that the success underscores the Nigerian Army’s resolve to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and to protect lives and property across Ondo State.

It added that aggressive clearance operations and patrols would be intensified, while urging residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
