Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, will lead the country’s delegation to the 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank in Washington DC starting Monday, October 13.
According to a statement from the Presidency signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Cardoso will attend as the Alternate Governor on behalf of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who is currently indisposed.
The Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, is also part of the delegation.
The World Bank stated that the meetings will feature key sessions such as the Development Committee Plenary on October 16 and the International Monetary and Financial Committee gathering on October 17, alongside other events focusing on global economic issues and development priorities.
