The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CCAN) has congratulated Olatunji Disu on his appointment as the 23rd Indigenous Inspector General of Police.
In a press statement jointly signed by Chairman Sam Ogbeifun and Secretary General Babatunde Ayeni, the association described the appointment as a recognition of Disu’s distinguished service record and commitment to professional policing.
The association highlighted his previous roles in key operational and administrative positions, including the Intelligence Response Team, Principal Staff Officer to former IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, and Assistant Inspector General at Alagbon Annex.
CCAN also noted Disu’s academic and professional credentials, describing him as an officer who has consistently demonstrated leadership capacity and operational competence.
The association expressed optimism that his longstanding cordial relationship with the media would further strengthen collaboration between the police and journalists.
It added that sustained synergy between the Force and the media is essential for effective policing, public trust building, and balanced reportage of security matters.
CCAN pledged its continued support in shaping constructive narratives around law enforcement activities and promoting public understanding of the Force’s efforts in combating crime.
