The Lagos State Police Command has taken its customer service campaign beyond policing with a free medical outreach for traders, workers and other members of the public at Computer Village, Under Bridge, Ikeja.
The outreach, held on Wednesday as part of activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week, provided free health screening, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, eye examinations, medical consultations and health counselling.
The initiative was organised in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for police commands nationwide to commemorate the week, themed “Going Extra Miles.”

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, said the outreach was part of efforts to deepen people-oriented policing, strengthen police-community relations and improve public confidence in the Police.
Fatai appreciated residents, business owners, community leaders and other stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the state.
He said effective policing could not be achieved without the cooperation and feedback of members of the public, assuring residents that the Command remained open to constructive criticism, complaints and suggestions on its service delivery.
According to him, feedback from the public would help the Command strengthen accountability and professionalism while improving confidence in the Police.

The CP reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos Command to serving residents with dedication, courtesy and professionalism, stressing its readiness to “go the extra mile” in meeting the needs of the people.
He urged residents to continue to support the Police by providing useful information and constructive feedback, saying improved relations between the Police and the public remained essential to effective policing and security in Lagos.
