The Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Zone A, Mohammed Babandede, has charged officers of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command, Lagos, to uphold discipline, integrity, and professionalism.
Babandede gave the charge during a strategic visit to the Command on February 4, 2026.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Vu Ogagbor, the ACG said officers must remain vigilant and responsive to emerging operational challenges.
“He urged officers to adapt to evolving trade and border management realities, follow procedures diligently, and promote innovation and accountability,” the statement read.
Welcoming the ACG, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Bolaji Lukman Adigun, described the visit as timely.
“The Command remains committed to revenue generation, enforcement, and trade facilitation,” Adigun said.

He added that the Command would align its operations with the broader vision of the Nigeria Customs Service.
During the visit, Babandede reviewed revenue performance, enforcement strategies, and stakeholder relations, while interacting with officers on duty.
Adigun described the engagement as a defining moment.

“The advice and observations will enhance our operational focus and service standards,” he stated.
