The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) OFR, has congratulated the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Tajudeen Abbas, Ph.D. (Iyan Zazzau), on his 61st birthday, commending his contributions to national development and support for Nigeria’s security efforts.
The Minister, in a goodwill message signed by Leah Katung-Babatunde, SA (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence, extended the congratulations on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the wider defence sector.
Musa described Abbas as an exceptional lawmaker and committed statesman, saying his leadership of the 10th House of Representatives had helped promote legislative productivity, stability and democratic harmony.
The Defence Minister also acknowledged the Speaker’s support for national peace and security, particularly his legislative efforts towards strengthening Nigeria’s security framework and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Musa, Abbas’ leadership has been characterised by humility, intellect and a strong commitment to the progress of the country.
“Your selfless service, humility, deep intellect, and dedication to the progress of our nation continue to define your legislative leadership,” the Minister said.
He added that under Abbas’ leadership, the House of Representatives had continued to play an important role in promoting good governance and national stability.
The Minister noted that the Speaker’s birthday coincides with Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary, making the occasion an opportunity to celebrate both his personal milestone and his service to the nation.
Musa prayed that Almighty God would grant Abbas continued good health, wisdom, long life and the strength to continue leading the House of Representatives in service to the country.
