Defence Minister Pledges Dedication to APC Campaign, Reaffirms National Security Commitment

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd.), OFR, has pledged total dedication to his new assignment as Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections, while reaffirming that his constitutional responsibility for national security remains paramount.
Musa expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment, describing the assignment as a call to higher service.
The minister assured the party leadership, stakeholders and supporters across the country that he would bring diligence, administrative rigour and focus to the campaign assignment in pursuit of the party’s electoral objectives.
He, however, stressed that his political assignment would not affect his primary responsibility as Minister of Defence, particularly the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and the lives and property of citizens.
“National security remains our highest imperative,” Musa said, adding that ongoing military operations, strategic reforms and inter-agency collaborations within the defence sector would continue with greater vigour.
He said the Ministry of Defence remained committed to protecting Nigerians and supporting President Tinubu’s vision of a safe and prosperous country.
The minister also urged APC members and Nigerians to remain united behind the administration, expressing confidence that the party would record success at the 2027 polls while continuing to strengthen governance and national security.
