Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has officially named Dr. Anieti Udofia, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, as the Commissioner of the Year 2025. This prestigious recognition comes in honor of his exceptional leadership, outstanding performance, and the successful execution of the Christmas Unplugged 2025 festival.
The announcement was made by the Governor on Friday, January 2, 2026, at his country home. To mark the achievement, Governor Eno presented a ₦20 million appreciation gift to Dr. Udofia and approved an additional ₦100 million for the members of the Christmas Unplugged Committee and their support team.
Governor Eno praised the dedication and hard work of the Commissioner and his entire staff, noting that their collective efforts played a vital role in the event’s overall success. He further disclosed that a formal award ceremony will be held during an upcoming State Executive Council meeting, with the date to be announced soon.
