The Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies, PSNAFSA, has called for improved aviation safety, equipment, logistics and welfare support for security personnel following the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The organisation, while mourning the NAF personnel and other victims of the crash, said the incident highlighted the risks faced by members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
In a statement, the PSNAFSA Convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, expressed condolences to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Nigerian Air Force and the families, colleagues and friends of those who lost their lives in the accident.

She described the crash as a profound tragedy for the victims’ families, colleagues, friends and communities.
PSNAFSA said the incident should reinforce the need for sustained investment in the safety and welfare of personnel serving the country.
The organisation called on relevant authorities to strengthen the capacity of the nation’s security agencies through improved intelligence, equipment, logistics, communications, aviation safety and personnel welfare.
It urged the authorities to provide appropriate platforms, equipment and other resources required by security personnel to perform their duties safely and effectively.
According to PSNAFSA, supporting those who protect the nation should be regarded as a collective responsibility, particularly as security personnel continue to confront increasingly complex threats.
“The men and women of our security agencies cannot be left to confront increasingly complex security threats without the necessary institutional, operational and public support,” the organisation said.
PSNAFSA also urged Nigerians not to become desensitised to the sacrifices of security personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty, noting that every fallen officer leaves behind families and communities that must cope with the consequences of such losses.
The organisation said it stood with the Nigerian Air Force and all those affected by the crash, while acknowledging the courage and sacrifices of personnel serving the country.
PSNAFSA prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and for God to grant their families, colleagues and friends the strength and comfort to bear the loss.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces and other security agencies and promoting stronger public confidence and partnerships between security personnel and the communities they serve.
