The Commandant of the Immigration Training School, Kano, Comptroller of Immigration Service (CIS) Tony Akuneme, has received the Kano State chapter of the National Association of Retired Immigration Officers (NARIO) on a courtesy visit.
The visit was aimed at strengthening existing relationships, sharing professional experiences and exploring collaboration on matters relating to immigration administration and national security.

Confirming the visit, the Public Relations Officer of the Immigration Training School, Kano, Assistant Superintendent of Immigration SS Abubakar, said the engagement underscored the value of institutional continuity.
“The scheduled visit was designed to strengthen existing relationships, share experiences and explore areas of collaboration affecting immigration and national security,” Abubakar said.

He disclosed that the delegation was led by the Kano State Chairman of NARIO, CIS MG Mohammed.
“Members of the association were warmly received by the Commandant and senior officers of the Immigration Training School,” Abubakar added.
According to him, discussions during the visit focused on training, security and community engagement.
Abubakar said the retired officers offered support for the Commandant’s initiatives and expressed willingness to contribute their experience to institutional development.

“They also sought guidance on how the association can benefit from the school’s expertise through regular interactions and knowledge sharing,” he stated.
The PRO explained that collaboration on training programmes for both retired and serving officers was identified as a key area of cooperation.
He added that a follow-up meeting has been proposed to finalise the identified areas of partnership.

“To further document history, the visit rounded off with a group photograph involving the Commandant, members of the association and officers of the school,” Abubakar said
