The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has commenced the implementation of newly approved pension rates for military pensioners following the adjustment arising from the new National Minimum Wage.
The Board also announced that applicable pension arrears had been processed and would be paid into the accounts of all affected military pensioners from Friday, October 2, 2026.
The Public Relations Officer of the Military Pensions Board, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Mohammed said the implementation of the new pension rates and payment of the applicable arrears had been effected by the Board.
“The Military Pensions Board is pleased to inform all military pensioners that the implementation of the newly approved pension rates, following the adjustment arising from the new Minimum Wage, has been effected,” he said.
He added that the applicable arrears had also been processed for payment to pensioners.
The Board appreciated military pensioners for their patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the implementation process.
Mohammed said the Board remained committed to ensuring timely payment of pensions and continuously improving pension administration for military veterans.
According to him, the commitment was in recognition of the invaluable service and sacrifices made by Nigeria’s military personnel and veterans.
