Residents of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency have expressed renewed confidence in the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Candidate, Moses Olarewaju, following his impressive performance at an interactive session organised by Amuwo Residents for Better Representation (ARBR).
The engagement provided an opportunity for residents, community leaders and stakeholders to engage directly with the APC candidate on his vision, legislative priorities and plans for the constituency.
Speaking extensively on his roadmap, Moses Olarewaju reiterated that his legislative agenda would be people-centred, inclusive and driven by the genuine needs of the constituents.
He explained that his motivation for seeking public office goes beyond politics, stressing that his ultimate objective is to bring smiles, relief and meaningful succour to the people of Amuwo Odofin.
True to his reputation for responding to immediate needs, Moses Olarewaju demonstrated this commitment when the organisers raised the case of a resident facing an emergency health challenge. Without hesitation, he pledged to take responsibility for the medical bills required to ensure the resident receives appropriate treatment.
Physically Challenged Persons Receive Immediate Intervention
The physically challenged community was equally given a prominent place at the engagement.
Their leader, Olumide Dabo, presented the challenges confronting members of the community and appealed for greater inclusion in the political and economic development of the constituency.
Moses Olarewaju assured them that persons living with disabilities would remain an important component of his legislative agenda.
As an immediate intervention, he presented ₦250,000 to Olumide Dabo to support his trade, while further committing ₦1 million to support four other members with verifiable businesses or trades.
The gesture was received with enthusiasm by members of the community.
“Riverine Communities Will Not Be Forgotten”
Addressing the concerns of the Riverine Communities, Moses Olarewaju acknowledged the peculiar challenges confronting residents in the area, assuring them that their aspirations and welfare would receive priority attention.
He noted that effective representation must extend beyond the major urban centres and embrace every community, regardless of its location or population.
Commitment to Preserving Festac Town’s Heritage
One of the major highlights of the interactive session was Moses Olarewaju’s commitment to the preservation of Festac Town as a cultural and historical monument.
He spoke passionately about the historical significance of Festac Town and promised to pursue the necessary legislative interventions to protect its heritage and ensure that its unique identity is preserved for generations yet unborn.
“We Will Do It Together”
The APC candidate further emphasised the importance of continuous engagement with the people, promising to institutionalise regular Town Hall Meetings where residents would have the opportunity to articulate their needs, expectations and aspirations.
According to him, the legislative agenda should not be developed in isolation but must emerge from genuine consultation with the people.
“We will do it together through Town Hall Meetings, where our needs and expectations will be remodelled into an agenda for a better and rewarding future.”
His remarks appeared to resonate strongly with the residents, many of whom nodded in approval as he narrated the everyday struggles of the ordinary man across Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.
