The Anambra State Police Command has strengthened its community policing efforts through a strategic partnership with Premium Trust Bank as part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration.
The collaboration was highlighted on the third day of the event, April 1, 2026, with a focus on improving security advocacy and enhancing engagement between the police and the public.

As part of the initiative, officers of the Command carried out a security advocacy visit to selected schools across the state, where they interacted with students and staff on safety awareness.
During the sessions, the police educated participants on crime prevention strategies, personal security, and the importance of cooperating with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order.

The Command said the outreach is aimed at instilling a culture of security consciousness among young people, whom it described as critical stakeholders in building a safer society.
In addition to the advocacy visits, the police also extended alms to members of the public, demonstrating a humanitarian approach to policing beyond its traditional law enforcement duties.

The initiative, according to the Command, reflects its commitment to fostering public trust and strengthening relationships with communities through people-oriented policing strategies.
Speaking at the event, the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Coordinator, ASP Agaba Alexander, emphasized the importance of sustained engagement with youths in tackling crime at its roots.

Also present was a representative of Premium Trust Bank, Stella Umezinwa, who led the bank’s delegation and reaffirmed the institution’s support for initiatives that promote safety and community development.
The Anambra State Police Command reassured residents of its continued commitment to protecting lives and property while maintaining a people friendly approach to policing across the state.
