The DHQ confirmed that four personnel were killed during a fierce encounter in Benisheikh.
It stated, “Two officers and two soldiers were killed in action, making the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its citizens.”

In the North-West, troops rescued 31 hostages from an attack on a church in Kaduna State and 18 kidnapped victims in Sokoto State.
Operations in the North-Central also led to the rescue of 21 kidnapped victims and the destruction of terrorist camps.
In the South-South, troops recovered N4,599,000 ransom during an anti-kidnapping operation in Delta State.
The military also reported recoveries of arms, ammunition, and petroleum products from criminal elements across various regions.

Mourning the fallen soldiers, the DHQ said, “The AFN mourns deeply with the families, loved ones, and colleagues of these fallen heroes.”
