Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a China-based Nigerian businessman and two Angolan nationals who excreted a total of 236 wraps of cocaine at airports in Abuja and Kano.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by Femi Babafemi, Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja.

According to the statement, the 34-year-old businessman, Ibeanu Vincent Chukwudulue, was arrested on February 4, 2026, aboard a Qatar Airways flight from Kano to China via Abuja and Doha.
NDLEA operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport deboarded him for a body scan, which confirmed ingestion of illicit drugs. He was subsequently placed under observation and excreted 52 pellets of cocaine weighing 735.95 grams.

Babafemi said Ibeanu claimed he was previously based on Lagos Island before relocating to Guangzhou, China, in 2024.
Similarly, two Angolans — Mbandu Martins Makiadi and Ngoma Wilson Fernando — were intercepted at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport during outward clearance for a flight to Istanbul via Addis Ababa.
After body scans confirmed drug ingestion, the suspects were placed under observation. Mbandu excreted 76 wraps weighing 920 grams, while Ngoma expelled 108 pellets weighing 1.33 kilograms.
The suspects reportedly claimed they were recruited in Luanda with a promise of $3,000 each upon successful delivery in Turkey.

In a related development, NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport thwarted an attempt by a convicted drug kingpin, Olashupo Michael Oladimeji, to export 1.10 kilograms of cocaine concealed in garri to London on a Virgin Atlantic flight.
Oladimeji, currently serving a five-year jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, was earlier convicted in 2025 for conspiracy to export 17.90kg of cocaine.

The statement said he orchestrated the latest attempt from prison using his logistics company. A staff member, Adedeji Yusuf Gbolahan, who presented the consignment for export, was arrested, while investigations revealed Oladimeji directed the operation from behind bars.
In another case, a 44-year-old estate surveyor was arrested over an attempt to export 1.70kg of skunk concealed in jerry cans to the UK. A cargo agent linked to the consignment was initially apprehended before a follow-up operation led to the arrest of the principal suspect in Lagos.
In Abuja, NDLEA operatives intercepted a children’s toy guitar concealing two parcels of Canadian Loud cannabis weighing 59.2 grams. A follow-up operation led to the arrest of the consignment owner in Life Camp.
In Lagos, officers raided a Lekki residence used for the production of synthetic cannabis known as Colorado, recovering 13.2 kilograms of the substance and precursor chemicals. The raid followed the seizure of 73 cartons of nitrous oxide along the Ajah–Epe expressway.
A female suspect was also arrested in Ibadan with quantities of Colos, skunk and methamphetamine, along with cash and two vehicles.
In Kwara State, 105,400 pills of tramadol were recovered from a suspect after his vehicle was intercepted in Bode Saadu area.

Similarly, in Edo State, five suspects were arrested during a raid in Ovia North East Local Government Area, where 563.5 kilograms of skunk were recovered.
The agency said its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation campaigns continued nationwide in schools and communities.
While commending officers across various commands for the arrests and seizures, NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Buba Marwa, urged them to sustain the agency’s balanced approach to drug supply and demand reduction efforts.
