The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (KWASEMA), has conducted an on-the-spot assessment of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State following recent bandits’ attacks.
The assessment was carried out to determine the level of destruction and identify urgent humanitarian needs.

In a statement by the Press Unit of NEMA, Manzo Ezekiel, the agency disclosed that relief materials had earlier been delivered to support the Kwara State Government’s intervention.
He said the items were received by the Executive Secretary of KWASEMA, Mr. Moshood Mogaji.

According to Ezekiel, the NEMA team from the Minna Operations Office was led by the Head of Operations, Mr. Hussaini Isah, while the KWASEMA delegation was led by Mogaji.
He said the team paid a courtesy visit to the Kaiama Local Government Secretariat and was received by Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna.
“They also visited the Kaiama Emirate Council and commiserated with the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Omar, through the Wazirin Kaiama, Alhaji Adamu Gene,” he stated.

Ezekiel added that traditional leaders, including Alhaji Umar Bio Salihu of Woro, provided insights into the needs of affected residents.
He noted that the assessment was carried out with the cooperation of security agencies and other stakeholders.
