The Nigeria Police Force Pensions Limited has unveiled a WhatsApp Business platform to improve pension services and enhance communication with serving and retired police personnel in a historic move nationwide.
The Managing Director of the organisation, Mr Muhammed Dutse, said the platform would provide seamless access to pension information and support services without requiring users to visit pension offices.
Dutse disclosed that about 30,000 police personnel had enrolled on the platform before its official launch.
“Our goal is to enrol all police personnel nationwide within the next two to three months,” he said.
According to him, the platform enables users to check their Retirement Savings Account balances, download statements, access fund performance information and update personal records.

He said feedback from early users indicated that the platform had simplified access to pension-related information and facilitated the remote resolution of complaints.
Dutse explained that the initiative was introduced to improve service delivery and address challenges associated with physical access to pension offices, especially amid rising transportation costs.
He added that the platform was secured with robust measures to prevent cyber threats and unauthorised access.
The acting managing director also revealed that a proposal before the Federal Government seeks to raise employer pension contributions for police officers from 10 per cent to 20 per cent.
According to him, the proposed increase would strengthen retirement savings and improve pension benefits for police personnel.

Dutse said alternative service channels, including USSD platforms and periodic pension statements, would be available for personnel without smartphones.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to deploying technology-driven solutions to improve customer satisfaction and pension service delivery.
