NIS Graduates 62 Senior Officers, Reaffirms Commitment to Leadership Development

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reiterated its commitment to developing a professional, disciplined and technology-driven workforce as 62 senior officers graduated from the 13th Command Course of the Immigration Command and Staff College (ICSC), Sokoto.
The three-month course focused on strategic leadership, border security and migration management, with participants drawn from various commands and formations of the Service across the country.
According to DCI A.S. Akinlabi, Service Public Relations Officer, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, who was represented by the Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of the Directorate of Human Resource Management, ACG S.U. Agba, charged the graduating officers to uphold professionalism, integrity and excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony held on Saturday at the Immigration Command and Staff College in Sokoto, the CGI urged the officers to apply the knowledge and leadership skills acquired during the training to improve operational effectiveness and strengthen border security.
She also encouraged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating integrity, accountability, innovation and transformational leadership in their various commands.
The Commandant of the Immigration Command and Staff College, ACG A.D. Bagari, congratulated the graduands on the successful completion of the rigorous training programme.
He urged them to remain responsive to the demands of public service and sustain vigilance in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders while applying the leadership and strategic management skills acquired during the course.
Highlights of the ceremony included the conferment of the Pass Command Course (PCC) honour on the 62 graduating officers, presentation of awards to outstanding participants and the decoration of Course Provosts with Badges of Honour in recognition of exemplary service.
The event was attended by the representative of the Sultan of Sokoto, heads and representatives of security agencies, as well as other dignitaries, who commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for its continued investment in leadership development and institutional capacity building.
