In a renewed push to improve the living conditions of police personnel, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhanced housing welfare for officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The IGP made this known on Tuesday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, while receiving the Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Mr. Shehu Usman Osidi, and his management team on a courtesy visit.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Osidi described the Nigeria Police Force as one of FMBN’s most strategic institutional partners, commending the Force for its consistent cooperation with the Bank. He called for deeper collaboration to ensure that police personnel across the country can access mortgage facilities and housing benefits seamlessly, without administrative bottlenecks or disputes.

Responding, IGP Egbetokun welcomed the FMBN delegation, describing the engagement as timely and critical to strengthening the existing partnership between both institutions.
He noted that institutional collaboration remains key to delivering sustainable housing solutions for police officers.

The IGP stressed that the welfare of police personnel remains a top priority under his leadership, emphasizing that access to affordable and decent housing is fundamental to boosting morale and improving service delivery among officers who risk their lives daily to protect lives and property.
He assured the FMBN leadership of the Force’s continued support and commitment to initiatives that promote the dignity, stability, and long-term well-being of police personnel, both in active service and in retirement.
The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun, continues to pursue strategic partnerships aimed at improving welfare standards and reinforcing institutional support systems for its workforce.
