Nigeria’s leading technology recognition platform, the Titans of Tech Awards (TOTA), will hold its 22nd edition on July 17, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, bringing together key players in the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
The annual event is expected to attract technology innovators, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, regulators, telecommunications operators, fintech leaders and other stakeholders driving digital transformation across Africa.
Established in 2004 by technology advocate Don Pedro Aganbi, the Titans of Tech Awards has earned a reputation as one of the continent’s foremost platforms for recognising excellence, innovation and leadership in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

Often described as Nigeria’s equivalent of the “Tech Industry Grammys,” the awards have, over the years, celebrated individuals, institutions and organisations whose contributions have advanced technology adoption, digital inclusion and economic development.
Organisers said the theme for this year’s edition, “Quantum Shift,” reflects the sweeping changes taking place across Africa’s technology landscape, driven by artificial intelligence, fintech innovation, cybersecurity, cloud computing, digital infrastructure and data intelligence.
According to them, the theme highlights the need for governments, businesses and innovators to embrace disruptive technologies and strategic partnerships capable of accelerating Africa’s digital transformation and economic growth.
”The 2026 edition comes at a critical period for Nigeria’s technology ecosystem as the country records significant progress in fintech, artificial intelligence, digital payments, broadband expansion, cybersecurity and startup development,” the organisers stated.
They noted that beyond rewarding excellence, the event would provide a platform for networking, collaboration, knowledge sharing and policy engagement among stakeholders across the digital economy.
Industry watchers believe this year’s awards will be among the most competitive and impactful editions since the programme’s inception, given the growing influence of emerging technologies on business, governance and economic development.
Over the years, the Titans of Tech Awards has honoured several prominent figures and organisations that have played significant roles in the growth of Nigeria’s technology sector. They include Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Chairman of MTN Nigeria; Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group; Funke Opeke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MainOne; Mitchell Elegbe, Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch; Sir Demola Aladekomo, Chairman of CHAMS Plc; Austin Okere, Founder of Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) Plc; Chima Onyekere, Founder of Linkserve; and Senator Ayo Arise, Chairman of File Solutions.
The organisers expressed optimism that the forthcoming edition would further reinforce Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s leading technology hubs while celebrating individuals and organisations driving innovation and sustainable development across the continent.
Titans of Tech Africa Awards is the flagship annual recognition platform organised by Technology Africa, a technology media, advocacy and strategic communications organisation focused on promoting innovation, digital transformation and technology-driven development across Africa.
The platform recognises outstanding public and private sector institutions, entrepreneurs, startups and technology leaders whose contributions continue to shape the future of the continent’s digital economy. Through its research-based assessment process and independent jury framework, TOTA has emerged as one of Africa’s most respected technology awards platforms.
The 2026 edition is expected to spotlight the leaders, organisations and innovations shaping Africa’s next phase of digital growth and transformation.
