Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have sustained intensified military operations across the North-East, recording major successes against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, while also ensuring peaceful Eid-el-Adha celebrations and strengthening civil-military relations in the region.
The Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, disclosed that troops operating in conjunction with Operation DESERT SANITY V/SIEGE OPERATIONS successfully foiled coordinated terrorist attacks, neutralised insurgents, arrested criminal collaborators and recovered arms and ammunition in multiple operations across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.

In a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, the military said troops thwarted coordinated terrorist activities along the Buratai–Chara axis in Borno State after surveillance systems detected a large movement of Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters.
The statement noted that troops immediately engaged the terrorists with offensive firepower, forcing them to retreat in disarray, while Quick Response Forces pursued the fleeing insurgents and inflicted heavy casualties on them. It added that 169 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered during the operation, with no casualty recorded among the troops.

According to the statement, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters, also carried out a successful ambush operation around Kasaicia village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State based on credible intelligence.

The military disclosed that four Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists were neutralised during the operation, while two AK-47 rifles with empty magazines were recovered from the insurgents.

The statement further revealed that troops of Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI foiled another terrorist attack along the Kirawa axis, inflicting severe casualties on the attackers while maintaining control of the area.
It added that coordinated offensive operations were also conducted along the Damboa–Kanama, Damboa–Gwoza, Goniri axis and FOB Azir corridors to deny terrorists freedom of movement and reinforce operational dominance within the theatre.

Operation HADIN KAI also reported breakthroughs in counter-criminal operations, saying troops arrested three suspected armed robbers at Gar Gwigwi village in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State following credible intelligence.
Recovered items, according to the statement, included mobile phones, wristwatches, charms, cash, a dagger and a dane gun, which was later returned to its owner after verification, while the suspects remain in custody for further investigation.

The military also disclosed that troops apprehended a suspected terrorist collaborator in Monguno, while another operation in Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler with substances believed to be cannabis sativa.
On rescue operations, the statement said troops rescued more abducted civilians along the Ngoshe–Amuda axis, bringing the total number of rescued victims from the Ngoshe incident to 69.

It further stated that a kidnapped civilian rescued in the Gwoza axis revealed he escaped from terrorist captivity due to sustained military pressure and bombardment of terrorist hideouts in the Mandara Mountains.
The military said four civilians earlier rescued through collaboration with cross-border partners were formally received, medically treated, documented and reunited with their families as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts.

The statement also highlighted activities marking the Eid-el-Adha celebration in Sector 2 of Operation HADIN KAI in Damaturu, Yobe State, where troops hosted a Sallah event led by the Sector Commander, Brigadier General Edet Effiong.
According to the statement, the event brought together troops, dignitaries, community leaders and patients from the Level II Field Hospital to promote unity, boost troop morale and strengthen civil-military cooperation.

The military added that Brigadier General Edet Effiong commended troops for their sacrifices and urged them to remain disciplined, resilient and committed to duty.
The statement further disclosed that troops recovered bombs, improvised explosive devices and other logistics items abandoned by fleeing terrorists during aggressive clearance operations in the Magza general area and other locations within the theatre.

Operation HADIN KAI reassured residents of the North-East of its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements, protecting civilians and restoring lasting peace, security and economic stability across the region.
The military authority commended troops for what it described as impressive battle performances and urged them to sustain the current operational tempo in the collective interest of national security.
