UGHELLI – The Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Wilson Ojakovo, Oharisi III, has lauded Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the commencement of the Otovwodo Flyover project. The monarch described the landmark intervention as a catalyst that will permanently transform Ughelli into a modern metropolis.
The commendation was delivered on Monday at the Palace following the groundbreaking ceremony in Ughelli North Local Government Area, where the Governor and other dignitaries were warmly received.
Speaking through the Otota (Spokesman) of Ughelli Kingdom, Chief Peter Akpofure, the monarch highlighted the project as a major milestone for the kingdom. He noted that such infrastructure directly improves the quality of life for residents and eases the perennial traffic congestion that has long plagued the Otovwodo axis.

“This flyover bridge will forever change the face of Ughelli and will be remembered and appreciated by generations yet unborn,” the monarch stated. He further expressed gratitude for the Governor’s appointment of Ughelli indigenes to strategic positions and pledged the continued loyalty and cooperation of his people toward the administration.
In response, Governor Oborevwori thanked the traditional institution for their support, identifying them as vital stakeholders in grassroots development. He reaffirmed that the flyover is a key component of the “MORE Agenda,” specifically designed to enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and stimulate economic activities within the region.
In a related engagement, the Governor visited the residence of prominent industrialist and political leader, Olorogun Morrison Olori. As the founder of the Ukodo Nation Political Support Group, Olori and his members commended the Governor’s statewide development initiatives. The group used the occasion to assure the Governor of their unwavering support ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his visible track record of impactful governance.
