The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, and continuous training in strengthening operational effectiveness and improving policing standards within the Nigeria Police Force.
CP Ojajuni stated this while receiving members of the Nigeria Police Shooting Association (NPSA) during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The delegation, led by the Vice Chairman of the Association, SP Theresa Ogboi, alongside the Staff Officer Senior, Ogun State Command, SP Anderson Rabiat, visited the Commissioner of Police to congratulate him on his recent posting to Ogun State and reaffirm the Association’s support for his leadership.
Speaking during the visit, SP Theresa Ogboi described CP Ojajuni as a passionate advocate of shooting sports and commended his longstanding contributions to the growth of the Association during his service in the Lagos State Command.

According to her, CP Ojajuni served at different times as Second Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the Association, where his leadership and commitment significantly advanced shooting sports within the Nigeria Police Force.
The delegation further praised the Commissioner of Police for his professionalism, dedication to service, and sustained support for initiatives aimed at personnel development and operational excellence within the Force.

Responding, CP Ojajuni appreciated the delegation for the visit and commended the Association for its commitment to discipline, professionalism, and capacity development among police personnel.
He noted that shooting sports remain a critical tool in enhancing concentration, mental alertness, discipline, precision, and accuracy among officers, stressing that such qualities are essential to effective policing and tactical efficiency.

The Commissioner encouraged officers to cultivate the culture of continuous training and active participation in shooting sports, adding that regular practice would further strengthen professionalism, confidence, and operational competence within the Force.
“Continuous training remains vital in building a more efficient, disciplined, and tactically prepared police force capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges,” he stated.

Also speaking during the engagement, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Bolanle Muritala; the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Administration, DCP Ibrahim Abdul; and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Gbenga Adeoye, all commended the Association for its contributions to capacity building and professionalism within the Force.
The senior officers equally emphasized the importance of discipline, regular training, and skill development in enhancing operational efficiency and improving overall policing standards across commands.

CP Ojajuni further reaffirmed the Ogun State Command’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote institutional development, professionalism, and enhanced operational capacity within the Nigeria Police Force.
The visit ended with an interactive session between the police leadership and members of the Association, followed by group photographs.
