CP Ojajuni Rallies Traditional Rulers, LG, Corporate Leaders to Strengthen Ogun Security

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has intensified efforts to strengthen grassroots security across Ogun State, rallying traditional rulers, local government authorities, corporate organisations and community stakeholders behind a renewed drive for community policing and intelligence-led crime prevention.
During a strategic familiarisation tour of the Sagamu and Owode Egba Area Commands, the police chief said sustained collaboration among security agencies, community leaders and residents remains critical to preserving peace and denying criminals operating space within the state.
Accompanied by members of the Command Management Team and the State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Comrade Lawal Abdullahi, the CP began the tour with a courtesy visit to the palace of the Akarigbo of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (CFR), TORUNGBUWA II.
CP Ojajuni thanked the monarch for his continued support for policing initiatives and sought greater collaboration in strengthening local security structures across Remoland.
Responding, the Akarigbo commended officers and men of the Ogun State Police Command for their professionalism and commitment to duty, while praising the cordial relationship between the police and communities in Sagamu.
The police commissioner later held a strategic engagement at the Sagamu Area Command with community stakeholders, members of the Ogun State Hunters Association and police personnel.
Despite a heavy downpour, stakeholders attended the meeting in large numbers, a development CP Ojajuni described as evidence of their shared commitment to public safety.
He commended community leaders and local hunters for their vital intelligence support and praised officers for their outstanding performance during the recent cross-border security operation jointly conducted by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands, codenamed “Operation Kosaye.”
The CP urged personnel to sustain the discipline, professionalism and patriotism that have continued to enhance security across the state.
As part of the visit, CP Ojajuni commissioned a newly renovated office at the Sagamu Divisional Headquarters.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Peter Babatunde Ogunyanwo (Rtd) and representatives of Lafarge Sagamu, whom the Commissioner commended for their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and support towards improving police infrastructure.
The familiarisation tour also took the police commissioner to the Owode Egba Area Command, where he paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunshola Lanre, FCPA, and members of his cabinet.
CP Ojajuni described the area as Ogun State’s largest Area Command and a strategic industrial hub, noting that despite its high-risk security profile, officers have remained steadfast in protecting lives and property.
The council chairman, in his response, applauded the Command for its commitment to maintaining peace and security within the local government.
The Commissioner also reaffirmed the continued deployment of Operation Kosaye, stressing that the operation remains active and warning that cross-border criminals would find no safe haven in Ogun State. He further requested that the council chairman convey the Command’s appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State for supporting the initiative.
At the Owode Egba Area Command Headquarters, CP Ojajuni was received by officers and men of the Command, traditional rulers, community leaders and heads of sister security agencies.
He commended the strong inter-agency collaboration that has helped keep the axis relatively crime-free, while urging stakeholders to sustain their support for the ongoing security operations.
The tour concluded with a visit to the TGI Industrial Complex at the Sagamu Interchange, home to subsidiaries including Wacub, Wasil and Wacot.
Addressing the General Manager of Operations, Mr. Miranda Grande, and other senior executives, the Commissioner highlighted the role of job creation and employment security in reducing crime and applauded the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Mr. Grande, in response, appreciated the visit and commended the Ogun State Police Command for its sustained efforts in combating criminal activities around the Sagamu Interchange corridor and across the state.
