The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has pledged strict enforcement of discipline, professionalism, and accountability within the Command, declaring zero tolerance for misconduct and human rights violations.
Speaking during his maiden press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday, Ojajuni said his administration would be guided by the policy direction of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, which places citizens at the centre of policing.

The CP emphasised that abuse of office, corruption, indiscipline, and incivility towards the public would not be tolerated under his leadership, noting that such directives are “sacrosanct” and would be implemented without compromise.
He stressed that discipline remains the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force, warning that officers who fall short of expected standards would be decisively dealt with.
Ojajuni also urged officers and men of the Command to treat members of the public with dignity and respect, while calling on residents of Ogun State to reciprocate by cooperating with security agencies to maintain law and order.
To strengthen accountability, the police boss disclosed that the Command would deploy robust monitoring mechanisms, including the Complaint Response Unit (CRU), which will serve as a key channel for reporting misconduct.
He added that other platforms such as the Gateway Shield App and the Police Control Room would remain operational round-the-clock to receive complaints and intelligence from the public.

According to him, internal disciplinary units, including the X-Squad and Police Monitoring Unit, would be reinforced to ensure strict adherence to professional standards.
“The few bad eggs within our ranks will not be allowed to drag the good name of the Force into disrepute,” Ojajuni said, encouraging both officers and residents to report wrongdoing through appropriate channels.
The Commissioner assured residents that ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state would remain his top priority, promising proactive and inclusive policing strategies.
He further pledged to deepen collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, the media, and other security agencies to enhance public safety.
Ojajuni also promised to prioritise the welfare of officers, describing himself as a “welfarist” committed to improving working conditions within the Command.
He called on the people of Ogun State to support the Police with credible and timely information to aid in crime prevention and control.
“It shall be an unrelenting service to sustain the existing peace as well as ensuring a peaceful and secure state,” he assured.
