In a move signaling continuity and strengthened leadership, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has officially assumed duty as the 34th AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos. His appointment follows the promotion of his predecessor, DIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc.
AIG Olohundare, born on August 10, 1971, in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State, joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 1, 2000, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
With a policing career spanning all six geo-political zones of Nigeria and international assignments, AIG Olohundare has served in diverse capacities including Officer in Charge at Akamkpa and Uyanga Police Stations, Operations Officer at Marla CivPol Station in Darfur, Sudan, and Divisional Crime Officer at Central Police Station, Awka.

He has also held key leadership positions such as Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Force Public Relations Officer, Commissioner of Police at Lagos State Command, and Commissioner of Police at Ports Authority Police, Port Harcourt.
AIG Olohundare’s extensive professional development includes specialized courses locally and abroad in combat operations, human rights, community policing, anti-hijacking tactics, maritime rescue, SMART government, and leadership ethics across institutions in the USA, China, and South Korea.
He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Fraud Examiners of Nigeria, the Institute of Management Consultants, and the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, holding certifications such as Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and awards for distinguished service from both national and international organizations.

Married with children, AIG Olohundare enjoys reading, travelling, jogging, cycling, and playing tennis. In his first statement after assuming office, he urged residents of Lagos and Ogun states to cooperate with the police, abide by the law, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police stations.
