The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, has taken the Command’s service review to markets and communities in Yenagoa, engaging residents directly on their experiences with the police and seeking feedback on how to improve service delivery.
Adewale undertook the engagement on October 6 and 7 as part of activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week, themed “Going the Extra Mile”, with the Command saying the initiative was designed to bring policing closer to the people it serves.
At Swali Market on Wednesday, the commissioner interacted with traders and other members of the public, inviting them to share their experiences, commendations, concerns and suggestions about police services.

The Command said feedback received from the communities and markets visited was positive.
Adewale thanked residents for speaking openly with him, assuring them that their views would be used to sustain good practices and address areas requiring improvement.
He said the police must listen to the public and regard every interaction with citizens as an opportunity to build and strengthen trust.
The commissioner directed police officers across the state to receive reports courteously, respond promptly to complaints, keep complainants informed about developments and treat members of the public with dignity and fairness.

He also urged residents to continue providing credible information and constructive feedback to the police, assuring them that the Command holds the people it serves in high esteem.
The Command said the initiative was in line with the principles of SERVICOM—Service Compact with All Nigerians—and its commitment to responsive, professional and people-centred policing.
