The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center has a new helmsman as Commissioner of Police Akaninyene Ezima officially assumes office as Director.
A seasoned officer, Ezima joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and has built a formidable reputation across multiple high-profile assignments.
His career highlights include serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 17 CID, Akure, and Zonal Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Ibadan, Lagos, Benin and Kano, where he spearheaded notable anti-corruption efforts.

Before his latest elevation, he was Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Department Annex, Lagos.
His appointment signals a renewed push by the Force to confront cybercrime and evolving digital threats with strategic precision.
Ezima takes over from AIG Uche Ifeanyi Henry, PhD, the pioneer Director, who has been elevated and redeployed to head the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The development was confirmed in a statement e-signed by DSP Augustina Kuru, Anipr, MNISMA, Police Public Relations Liaison Officer, NPF-NCCC.
