The Delta State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and violent crimes, intercepting 1,520 packets of prohibited drugs and arresting a suspected armed robber and cultist in separate intelligence-led operations across the state.
The operations, carried out under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, underscore the Command’s renewed offensive against criminal networks operating within Delta State.

In one of the operations, operatives of the Eagle Net Special Squad, while on routine stop-and-search duty along the Asaba-Agbor Expressway near Northwest Filling Station on February 13, 2026, intercepted a white J5 bus with registration number 7BGT 60LG at about 10:30 p.m.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 1,520 packets of Tramadol and Swinol tablets carefully concealed beneath company machines.

The driver, Ebuka Dominion, 30, from Aguta Local Government Area of Anambra State, and the motor boy, Emmanuel Terdule, 30, from Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, were immediately arrested.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs were meant for distribution within the state.
Acting on further intelligence gathered during interrogation, police operatives arrested Peter Etim Akpan, 47, from Nibiaya Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, alleged to be the owner of the consignment.
Police authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the drug syndicate.
In a separate operation on February 22, 2026, at about 3:20 p.m., operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a suspected armed robber linked to a series of robbery incidents within Warri metropolis.
The suspect, Collins Darlington, 23, of Ughewughe community in Ughelli South Local Government Area, was apprehended at Otor Uweku area of Ughelli town following coordinated surveillance.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly led operatives to a bush in the Jedo area of Warri, where a locally made gun concealed in the ground was recovered.
Police said the suspect confessed to being a member of the Aye Confraternity and admitted involvement in several door-to-door robbery operations within Warri.
Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest other members of the gang identified during investigations.

Reacting to the development, CP Aina Adesola reiterated the Command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and the protection of lives and property across Delta State.
He urged residents to continue supporting the police with credible and timely information to sustain the fight against crime.
The Command assured that it remains resolute in dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
