The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has cautioned that the party would not tolerate acts capable of disrupting the primary elections, including violence, anti-party activities, and attempts to undermine the integrity of the process.
Yilwatda issued the warning while addressing aspirants who recently underwent screening exercises conducted by the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman stressed that any aspirant or supporter found instigating unrest or sponsoring violence during the primaries would face disciplinary action, including possible suspension from the party.
He said the APC remained committed to transparent, peaceful and credible primaries thatwould strengthen internal democracy and sustain public confidence in the ruling party.
According to him, the party has built a reputation as one of the most organised political platforms in the country and would not allow personal ambitions to override its collective interests.
Yilwatda urged aspirants to demonstrate maturity, patriotism and sportsmanship by accepting the outcome of the primaries peacefully.
The APC chairman also called on party members and stakeholders to remain united and committed to the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
He commended the President for what he described as efforts to strengthen democratic institutions and reposition the country through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Yilwatda highlighted ongoing reforms and investments in infrastructure, agriculture, transportation, energy and digital innovation, noting that the administration was laying thefoundation for long-term economic growth and national development.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the APC leadership to fairness, inclusiveness and internal cohesion ahead of the party primaries and the 2027 elections.
