The Nigeria Police Force, Ebonyi State Command, has dismantled a motorcycle snatching syndicate allegedly operating within and outside the state, recovering no fewer than 11 stolen motorcycles.
The command disclosed that the operation was carried out under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Hope Urunwa Okafor.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, the breakthrough followed a complaint lodged at the Central Police Station, Abakaliki, by one Eze Christian Ifeanyi, whose motorcycle was reportedly stolen from a bank premises in Ikom.

Ukandu said police operatives swung into action immediately after receiving the report and acting on credible intelligence, arrested a suspect identified as Anaeto Emmanuel.
Preliminary investigation, according to the command, revealed that the suspect allegedly specialised in buying stolen motorcycles from members of the syndicate and reselling them to unsuspecting members of the public.
The police spokesperson further stated that sustained intelligence-driven investigations led to the recovery of 11 motorcycles stolen at different times from various locations across Ebonyi State and Cross River State.

The command called on members of the public whose motorcycles were stolen to visit the Central Police Station, Abakaliki, with valid documents for identification and possible recovery of their motorcycles
