Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, has commended the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, for what he described as two years of responsible leadership, cultural preservation and development in the ancient Asaba Kingdom.
Elumelu, who is also the APC House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, gave the commendation in a goodwill message on Monday, October 5, 2026, marking the second anniversary of Prof. Epiphany Azinge’s ascension to the throne.
He described the monarch’s reign as one characterised by maturity, wisdom and responsible leadership, while praising the dignified manner in which the Asagba has continued to steer the affairs of the kingdom.

Elumelu particularly highlighted the monarch’s efforts to promote infrastructure development and preserve Asaba’s cultural and traditional heritage.
He said the initiatives had been complemented by leadership rooted in the fear of God and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The former lawmaker also praised the Asagba for working with the Delta State Government to promote sustainable development in Asaba, saying the monarch’s contributions had supported ongoing efforts to improve the state capital and the wellbeing of its residents.
According to Elumelu, the Asagba’s approach to traditional leadership has also helped promote peace, unity and communal progress, while strengthening confidence in the future of the kingdom.
He expressed appreciation to Prof. Epiphany Azinge on behalf of his wife, the Elumelu family, political associates and the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, and wished the monarch continued wisdom and divine guidance.
Elumelu also prayed for the Asagba’s good health, strength and long life on the throne, while wishing the people of Asaba continued peace, unity, prosperity and progress.
He further wished Prof. Epiphany Azinge many more years of a peaceful and impactful reign, assuring the monarch of the goodwill and prayers of the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
