The family of Late Sir Valentine Uche Okwuchi (KSM), the ODAFE of Onicha-Ugbo Kingdom in Delta State, has announced arrangements for his final burial ceremonies following his passing at the age of 72.
According to the burial announcement signed by his son, Madu Okwuchi, the late elder statesman, community figure and Knight of St. Mulumba will be laid to rest in a series of religious and funeral activities scheduled across Asaba and Onicha-Ugbo in July 2026.
The family described the late Sir Okwuchi as a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and relative whose legacy and impact will continue to live in the hearts of family members, friends and the wider Onicha-Ugbo community.
Activities for the burial will commence on Thursday, July 9, 2026, with a Vigil Mass at Guardian Angel Police Catholic Chaplaincy, G.R.A., opposite Cabinet Office, Asaba, by 5pm.
A second Vigil Mass is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Church, Onicha-Ugbo, also by 5pm.
The funeral service will hold on Friday, July 17, 2026, beginning with a Funeral Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Onicha-Ugbo, at 10am, followed by interment at Sir Val Okwuchi Villa, Umuoshomi Quarters, Ishiekpe Village, Onicha-Ugbo, in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
A reception for guests will take place at the Event Center near the Onicha-Ugbo Police Post.
The burial rites will continue on Saturday, July 18, 2026, while a Thanksgiving Mass will conclude the ceremonies on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Church, Onicha-Ugbo by 9am.
The family called on friends, associates and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life and legacy of the late Sir Valentine Uche Okwuchi.
