The Yobe State Police Command has rescued four teenage girls abducted during an attempted kidnapping attack in Fika Local Government Area, reinforcing ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and safeguard residents across the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command on Monday said the successful rescue operation followed a distress call received by Fika Divisional Police Headquarters on 28th June, 2026 at about 1423hrs, reporting that unidentified persons had attacked Didim Village in the Fika Area and abducted four young females.
The victims, all minors and young persons aged between 15 and 17 years, were reportedly taken by the attackers before security operatives swiftly responded.
Acting on the report, police operatives attached to Kukar Gadu Outstation, working in collaboration with local vigilantes, immediately mobilised and launched a coordinated rescue mission. Additional reinforcement from the Division was deployed, leading to the successful rescue of all four victims unhurt.
Following their rescue, the victims were taken to Kukar Gadu Primary Health Care Centre for medical examination and necessary support before being reunited with their families.
The Command disclosed that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest members of the criminal syndicate responsible for the attack, with intensified operations underway to ensure they are brought to justice.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin, directed sustained intelligence-led operations across the state to apprehend the fleeing suspects and strengthen security measures.
The Commissioner further reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across Yobe State and called on residents to remain vigilant by providing credible and timely information on suspicious persons, movements, and vehicles.
