Stakeholders of Ezza Ezekuna clan, including political leaders, traditional rulers, women groups and community leaders, have endorsed Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections. The endorsement took place during a rally at the Onueke Township Stadium in Ezza South Local Government Area.
Speaking with journalists after the event, the leader of Ezekuna Alioma Autonomous Community, Super High Chief Igboke Emmanuel, said the endorsement was informed by the governor’s performance, particularly in promoting peace and stability across the state.

According to him, communities that previously experienced conflicts have witnessed calm and peaceful coexistence under Nwifuru’s administration. He noted that the people of Ezza Ezekuna considered it necessary to reward the governor’s efforts with overwhelming support.
Chief Emmanuel also commended the governor for appointing Ezza sons and daughters into government positions and approving autonomous communities long sought by the people. He urged Nwifuru to sustain the good work, assuring him of the continued support of the Ezza people.
Also speaking, the Chairperson of Ezza North Local Government Area and leader of Ada Ezza Ezekuna Home and Abroad, Senator Mrs. Elizabeth Nomeh Ogodoali, described the endorsement as a well-deserved honour for a governor who has positively impacted the lives of many Ezza people through appointments, empowerment programmes, employment opportunities and infrastructure development.

Ogodoali said members of the association had begun mobilising support ahead of future elections, adding that residents were being encouraged to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards as a demonstration of appreciation for the governor’s achievements.
The Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation for Ebonyi Central Zone and Secretary-General of the Onwa Oferekpe Foundation Women’s Wing, Barrister Maria Okohu, pledged continued grassroots mobilisation in support of Governor Nwifuru and the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence in his re-election in 2027.

Similarly, the Executive Secretary of Ishielu Local Government Area and Coordinator of the Onwa Oferekpe Foundation Women’s Wing in the council area, Mrs. Nwafor Rachael Chinwe, praised the governor’s commitment to women’s inclusion in governance, noting that women currently occupy several strategic positions across the state, including local government secretaries, vice chairpersons and commissioners.
She further commended the governor for restoring peace in various parts of the state, particularly in resolving the long-standing conflict between Ezza and Ezillo communities in Ishielu Local Government Area, while participants at the rally reaffirmed their support for his administration and second-term bid.
