The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership has retracted its earlier allegations against the leadership of the Nigerian Military Pensions Board, citing fresh findings from independent inquiries.
The group, in a statement signed by its President, Abdul Danbature, on Wednesday, admitted that its previous claims against Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem were made without adequate verification.
The statement read in part, “Following extensive consultations, fact-finding engagements, and independent inquiries, we have come to the conclusion that our earlier criticism… was not based on sufficient verification of facts.”
AYAGL stated that it had now discovered reforms introduced under Abdulraheem’s leadership, including measures to improve transparency and pension administration.
“Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem has demonstrated leadership and commitment in the ongoing reforms… such efforts deserve recognition and encouragement,” the group said.
The organisation also called for an investigation into what it described as confusion arising from a purported appointment linked to Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu.
It urged the President, Bola Tinubu, and relevant authorities to probe the matter to safeguard institutional integrity.
AYAGL further cautioned youths against being used for political interests, stressing its commitment to accountability and national unity.
