With degrees from Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom, Dr. Kelvin Obi Ezenyili has translated scholarship into service, emerging as a two-term chairman at the heart of local governance in Delta State.
Born in Asaba, Delta State, Ezenyili was raised in a family environment that emphasized education, discipline and public service.
His academic journey took him through institutions in Delta and Rivers States before gaining admission into Igbinedion University, Okada.
He graduated in 2008 with a Second Class Upper Division, finishing as best graduating student in Political Science and Public Administration.
Ezenyili later pursued professional and postgraduate training in Ghana and the United Kingdom.
He earned Master’s degrees from the University of York and the University of Manchester, focusing on governance and public policy.
“Local governance remains the closest tier to the people and the real test of democracy,” Ezenyili once noted.

After completing his NYSC at the Delta Broadcasting Service, he joined public administration at the local government level.
He served as Supervisor for Special Duties and Agriculture in Oshimili South and later as Special Assistant to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
In 2022, he completed his PhD in Political Science and Public Administration.
Ezenyili was elected Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government in 2021 and re-elected in 2024.
Analysts say his leadership reflects “a balance between theory and practical governance.”
