The security architecture of Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) received a major boost on Wednesday as the council commissioned and handed over a newly constructed divisional office, an operational bus and a motorcycle to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, in a move aimed at strengthening crime prevention and rapid emergency response in the area.
The Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, fnarc, who represented the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD., mni, OFR, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, Honourable Dr Akogun Wale Anomo, fsi, pde, the Paramount Ruler of Ayandelu Kingdom, Ayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba (Builder) Ganiu Aderibigbe Asunmo, FNIOM, JAMADE I, and the people of Ikosi-Ejirin for delivering the new facility.

Speaking during the commissioning and handover ceremony held in Agbowa, Lagos, Keshinro described the completion of the project as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in the NSCDC by the government and the traditional institution, noting that it would further enhance the Corps’ capacity to safeguard lives and property.
He urged residents to regard the new divisional office as a symbol of collaboration among government, traditional institutions and security agencies, adding that it would serve as a centre for intelligence gathering, rapid response to security threats and a safe point for members of the public to report crimes and seek assistance.

Earlier, Honourable Dr Akogun Wale Anomo, alongside His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba (Builder) Ganiu Aderibigbe Asunmo, FNIOM, JAMADE I, formally commissioned and handed over the newly built Ikosi-Ejirin Divisional Office, as well as the operational bus and motorcycle, to the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC.
In his remarks, Anomo commended the strong partnership among the local government, traditional institutions and security agencies, saying the collaboration had significantly improved the security landscape of the LCDA and contributed to the development witnessed under his administration.

The council chairman pledged sustained cooperation with community leaders and security agencies to deliver the dividends of democracy, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains one of his administration’s top priorities.
Also speaking, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba (Builder) Ganiu Aderibigbe Asunmo, FNIOM, JAMADE I, applauded the Executive Chairman and members of his cabinet for ensuring the successful completion of the project and providing the logistics required to make the divisional office fully operational.

The monarch charged officers of the Ikosi-Ejirin Divisional Office of the NSCDC to justify the investment by intensifying efforts to rid the communities of crime and other criminal activities.

Among dignitaries present at the ceremony were the Executive Vice Chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, Hon Wasiu Dehinsilu, the Council Manager, the Leader of the House, traditional rulers from Ejirin Kingdom, Agbowa, Orugbo-Iddo, Owu-Ikosi and Otta-Ikosi, representatives of sister security agencies and other stakeholders.
