Ilorin Emirate union backs AIG Jimoh, expresses confidence in his integrity

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella socio-cultural organisation of the people of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State, has expressed confidence in the integrity and professionalism of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Moshood Olohundare Jimoh.
In a statement issued by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo, the IEDPU said Jimoh has consistently demonstrated fairness, justice and a commitment to peace throughout his policing career.
The Union’s National President, Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, said members of the Ilorin Emirate had followed with keen interest the allegations made against the senior police officer by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, over the Ajiran murder case.
Abdulmalik, who described AIG Jimoh as an alumnus of one of the Union’s schools, said the police officer has distinguished himself through professionalism, dedication and commitment to justice.
While affirming that every citizen has the right to seek justice, the Union cautioned against actions capable of destroying the hard-earned reputation of innocent individuals, especially public officers entrusted with maintaining law and order.
The IEDPU urged AIG Jimoh not to be distracted by criticisms but to remain focused on discharging his responsibilities with diligence and professionalism.
The Union also assured the senior police officer of the prayers and support of the Emir and the people of Ilorin Emirate.
