IMPR Unveils Memoir on NIPSS Experience, Announces New Books, Flagship Programmes

Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential and other specialised digital platforms, has announced the forthcoming release of a memoir by its Managing Director, Mallam Yushau A. Shuaib, detailing his experience at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
Speaking during the company’s mid-year briefing, Shuaib said the 205-page memoir, titled MNI vs. MNIPR in NIPSS: Tackling Institutional Bullying, chronicles events that led to his withdrawal from the Senior Executive Course (SEC 47) and examines issues relating to institutional discipline, due process, digital privacy, freedom of expression and leadership accountability.
According to him, the book presents his account of allegations that private email correspondence belonging to his organisation was unlawfully accessed during disciplinary proceedings, that he was wrongly linked to a publication he neither authored nor endorsed, and that expressions of institutional regret were misconstrued as admissions of misconduct.
He also disclosed that the memoir discusses the role of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), including the termination of its Memorandum of Understanding with IMPR following the controversy.
Shuaib expressed concern that petitions submitted to the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission over the alleged interception of his organisation’s private email had yet to yield action more than a year after they were filed.
He also referenced other pending legal matters involving the alleged freezing of IMPR’s corporate account by Access Bank and a defamation suit against Terrence Kuanum, saying the experiences strengthened his belief that delayed justice could undermine public confidence in public institutions.
Beyond the memoir, the IMPR Managing Director highlighted the company’s achievements in journalism and strategic communication during the first half of the year.
He said the organisation maintained its focus on quality journalism, public-interest reporting and strategic communication through its platforms, including PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, Politics Digest, Emergency Digest, TechDigest, HealthDigest, Entertainment Digest, Arewa Agenda and Spokespersons Digest.
Shuaib disclosed that IMPR’s strategic communication campaigns for the Nigeria Customs Service and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency earned continental recognition at the 2026 SABRE Africa Awards, receiving the CEO Certificate of Excellence and the Gold Award for Crisis Management.
He added that campaigns executed for the Central Bank of Nigeria, National Information Technology Development Agency and the Centre for Crisis Communication have also been shortlisted for the 2026 International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards scheduled to hold in Athens, Greece.
According to him, IMPR was equally listed among the PR Power List 2026 in recognition of its contributions to strategic communication and public affairs.
Looking ahead, he announced that the organisation would host several flagship programmes before the end of the year, including the National Spokespersons Awards and the Economic Confidential Annual Lecture in August, the Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA) in November, and the Arewa Stars Awards in Kano in December.
Shuaib also revealed that the 2026 PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship attracted 690 applications for only 30 available slots, with successful candidates to undergo training in Abuja, Kano and Ilorin, including the newly established PRNigeria Training Academy in Lugbe, Abuja.
He further announced the publication of four new books: AI in Crisis Communication, Communicating Revenue and Monetary Reform, The Distinguished 109: Profile of Nigeria’s 10th Senate, and The Community Policing Playbook: Nigerian Case Studies That Work.
Reaffirming IMPR’s commitment to credible journalism and knowledge-driven communication, Shuaib said the company would continue to provide innovative media, research and strategic communication solutions in support of national development.
