The Lagos State Police Command has recorded significant breakthroughs in its fight against crime, with dozens of suspects arrested and a cache of arms, ammunition, and stolen items recovered across the state.
Commissioner of Police Tijani Olayiwola Fatai disclosed this during a press briefing, highlighting achievements since assuming office and reaffirming the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

The police boss noted that the successes were driven by intelligence led policing strategies, proactive deployments, and strong collaboration with residents and other security agencies.
He added that the Command also ensured a peaceful and hitch free Easter celebration, with no major security breaches recorded due to strategic positioning of personnel and operational assets across critical locations.

Within the period under review, the Command arrested forty seven (47) suspects linked to offences including armed robbery, cultism, conspiracy, fraud, stealing, and unlawful possession of firearms.
A total of fourteen (14) firearms comprising ten locally made guns and four pump action rifles were recovered, alongside ninety six (96) rounds of 5.2mm live ammunition, twenty nine (29) live cartridges, and one expended cartridge.

Other recoveries include fourteen (14) vehicles, two (2) laptops, twenty nine (29) mobile phones, one flash drive, as well as several other incriminating items connected to various criminal activities.

Among the notable operations was the arrest of a notorious armed robbery suspect in Amukoko, the apprehension of multiple suspected cultists in different parts of Lagos, and the busting of a car theft syndicate involved in stealing and dismantling vehicles for resale.
The Command also recorded successes in tackling fraud and violent crimes, including the arrest of a suspected serial fraudster linked to over ₦130 million and the recovery of luxury vehicles valued at over ₦520 million.

Further operations led to the arrest of suspects involved in vandalism, illegal possession of firearms, and street level robbery, with several confessional statements obtained and investigations ongoing to apprehend fleeing accomplices.
Fatai assured residents that the Command will sustain its momentum through intensified intelligence gathering, visibility policing, and community engagement, while urging Lagosians to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to rid the state of crime.
