The Lagos State Police Command has organised a sensitisation programme on insurance and welfare schemes for its officers as part of ongoing efforts to improve the welfare and financial security of personnel.
The programme, held at the Command Headquarters, forms part of the welfare initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the lecture was delivered by ACP Ameh Lydia of the Force Insurance Section.

She outlined the structure and responsibilities of the Force Insurance Section, highlighting the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to ensuring that personnel benefit from various welfare and insurance programmes.
ACP Lydia educated officers on available schemes, including the Group Life Assurance Scheme, Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme, Group Personal Accident Scheme, IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme and the newly introduced Voluntary Contributions Scheme designed to enhance officers’ financial security.

She also informed participants about the ongoing sale of shares in the Nigeria Police Force Insurance Company and encouraged interested personnel to take advantage of the investment opportunity.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the Inspector-General of Police for placing high priority on the welfare of police personnel.

He also appreciated the Force Insurance Section for organising the sensitisation programme, describing it as a valuable initiative that would improve officers’ awareness of available welfare benefits.
The Commissioner urged personnel to take full advantage of the various insurance and welfare schemes, noting that improved welfare remains critical to boosting morale, enhancing productivity and strengthening effective service delivery.
The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the welfare, motivation and professional development of officers in line with the broader reform agenda of the Nigeria Police Force.
