The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has met with representatives of military veterans’ associations to address concerns surrounding the implementation of newly approved pension rates.
The consultative meeting, held on Friday, October 9, 2026, provided an opportunity for veterans’ representatives to seek clarification on the new rates and understand how the approved changes would be implemented.
In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, said the meeting was organised to promote constructive dialogue, address pension-related concerns and ensure that issues were communicated through established channels.

According to the Board, representatives of the veterans’ associations expressed understanding of the explanations provided by its officials and appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with the management.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of regular communication between the Board and military pensioners in resolving concerns and improving understanding of pension-related decisions.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of military pensioners, pledging to maintain transparent communication and constructive engagement while working towards the timely resolution of issues within its mandate.

The engagement comes amid efforts by the Board to strengthen communication with military veterans and clarify the implementation of the newly approved pension rates.
