The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), has intensified search and recovery operations at the site of the ATR 42-500 aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
Specialist divers from the Navy and NSIB are conducting sustained underwater searches as multi-agency teams work round the clock to locate and recover additional wreckage and other relevant materials from the accident site.
The recovery efforts are being supported by hydrographic surveys, satellite-based search-and-rescue imagery, mud excavation and the pumping out of excess water to improve access to areas of interest.

The operations have also yielded additional aircraft components, which are being recovered for documentation and preservation as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident.
The coordinated effort underscores the collaboration among the participating agencies in ensuring that relevant evidence is retrieved and preserved to support the investigation.

The search and recovery operations are continuing as the teams work to locate further aircraft components and materials that could assist investigators in establishing the circumstances surrounding the crash.
