Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, has pledged to restore what he described as the era of impactful representation in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency after emerging as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Elumelu made the pledge on Friday in his acceptance speech following his emergence as the APC candidate to represent Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Addressing party leaders, stakeholders and members, the former lawmaker expressed gratitude to the APC for finding him worthy to fly the party’s flag.

“It is with utmost humility and gratitude that I address distinguished leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party, the APC for nominating me to fly the flag of the APC for re-election to represent the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives,” he said.
Elumelu thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his excellent leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it had strengthened the APC nationwide.
He also commended Delta State Governor, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for the implementation of the MORE Agenda, which he said had repositioned the state and strengthened support for the APC.
The APC candidate further appreciated former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, the party’s National Working Committee and Delta State Working Committee for steering the affairs of the party.
Elumelu described his emergence as a reflection of the collective will of the people across the four local government areas making up the constituency.

“Your decision today is significant not only because it is coming as a reinforcement of the confidence our party repose in my capacity to deliver but also as an undisputed reflection of the wishes and consensual will the overwhelming majority of our people,” he stated.
He maintained that the outcome of the exercise had boosted public confidence in the APC and signaled a desire among constituents for a return to what he termed effective and impactful representation.
“It also underscores our party’s sensitivity to the yearnings of the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency for a return of the era of impactful representation in the House of Representatives, which I embody,” he said.
Elumelu recalled what he described as the constituency’s previous achievements in attracting development projects in education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, electricity and road infrastructure during his tenure in the National Assembly.
“Indeed, our people cannot wait to return to that era when the voice of our Constituency reverberated in the House of Representatives,” he added.
The former Minority Leader said his return to the National Assembly as a ranking member would provide the constituency with stronger visibility, better access and more development opportunities.
“With me as a ranking member, our Constituency will have a stronger visibility, stronger connection and stronger voice in the House of Representatives,” he stated.

According to him, such visibility would translate into more jobs, empowerment programmes and development projects for the constituency.
Elumelu, however, called for unity within the APC, urging other aspirants and aggrieved members to embrace sportsmanship and work together for victory in the 2027 elections.
“We must strengthen our unity, set aside all divisive inclinations, brace up and redouble our efforts to ensure the victory of our party in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
